How to fix high temperatures KTM RC Duke 390

Evans coolant ktm factory
From communication of Austria, there is mention of a few cases where the nut from the waterpump-wheel (No. 13) pops out.
The loose nut are recognize to the high temperatures in the dashboard while driving or stand still.

high temperatures in the dashboard ktm
Advice is:

Take the pump house apart and replace the nut with a self-locking variant in combination with ‘Loctite 246’ (Threadlocker blue).
Turn with 10Nm.
The packing of the house is of rubber and is reusable.

Threadlocker ktm
I’m use Loctite 243 (Threadlocker blue) and a nut self-locking variant M6

catch pan ktm
Use an catch pan for the coolant, i’m use an oil pan because I throw mine away and replace for a new…

You see in the bin the coolant mine have small pieces of iron in the coolant this I would not reuse of course..
Mine advice is to use new coolant!

evans water coolant
I use Evans Waterless Powersports Coolant  it contains no water. No water means no steam, which means your engine can run as hot as you want and you’ll still stay in the saddle!
open the pump house ktm
Use socket wrench 8mm to open the pump house.

nut rc390
Get this nut off we’ll replace it, for many this is already loose.

nut self-locking rc390
Use the new nut self-locking variant M6 and add threadlocker blue and turn with 10Nm.

Clean up the the house ktm
Clean up the nut, Clean up the the house.

rc390 coolant
Close the house also using threadlocker blue, the packing of the house is of rubber and is reusable.

Add coolant to the radiator full and the radiator can be closed.

Now we add coolant in the coolant tank, until it is between the min and max.

For the best results i have use the best coolant what you can get it´s from Evans we have used this 1 year in the RC390 CUP the cooling of the engine went very good.
I really recommend you to use Evans Prep Fluid & Evans Powersports Waterless Coolant it’s the best coolant you can get in the market.

Evans Powersports Waterless Coolant
Keep your engines safe, no matter what the conditions.
Evans Prep Fluid
Evans Prep Fluid is a waterless cooling system flush engineered specifically to purge the cooling system of water-based antifreeze after draining and before installing new waterless coolant. Prep Fluid should be used when block drains are unavailable or cannot be removed. It is not a substitute for thoroughly draining the cooling system and related components. Prep Fluid is NOT intended to be a stand-alone operating coolant, but as a flush only.

Speedweek Oschersleben (EWC) Race RC390 cup 2016

daniel fernandes hand downIn my qualifying my bike gived up, had no more power in the engine and the bike just turn off.

I got a 36th place of 40 in my classification, I’ve checked my bike and have replaced the fuel filter this was probably the problem..
In the race unfortunately I had a bad start I started a little later but was able to overtake some riders in the first corner unfortunately it was quite crowded to overtake so the fast group hooked away quickly.

Daniel Fernandes motor
Out of nowhere we had a little rain really unexpected i was really more faster and have overtake some riders unfortunately the little rain stopped the track was dry again and was overtaken again..
I still finished 25th it was a nice race, I did my best in this difficult battle!
